EN • We are Angels
This project came about for the Kickstarter community. I chose Kickstarter as it offered the opportunity to reach immediately the world, languages and people different yet the same. People who can share ideals, dreams and hopes.
In this project everybody’s participation is necessary… because you are the living and creative part of the project.
Every person will be able to have a personalised angel theme picture.
Everybody becomes an Angel!
I want to bring creativity and beauty in every home.
I would like to climb towards Heaven with you.
I would like that all of you may become an angel. You and your loved ones.
Let us fill our houses with angels, our lives with angels.
Let us fill the world with beauty and holiness.
Angels are those who contemplate God.
Art research on Angels
The figure of angels has always been at the centre of my artistic research.
In my works I have always looked for the antique value of art: that of transforming reality giving it new life and meaning.
Art helps us see with new eyes. Art gives us the opportunity to have a deep vision of reality, of the meaning of life, thus to have a moral and spiritual teaching.
«The task of the artistic ministry – said pope Paul VI – is that of making accessible and clear the world of the soul, of the invisible, of the ineffable. The artist’s job, his mission, is that of seizing heaven with its treasures and dress them with words, colours, shapes and accessibility».
This project thought for Kickstarter is open. This is the reason I need your help: without your desire to take part actively and creatively, there can be no union and this no artistic work. You are the vital part of this project on angels.
This is the project
The project consists in the realization of a series of paintings with acrylic paints.
The subject: angels.
My painting is realized from real images, sent and chosen directly by you customer, through a dialogue that leads to the creation of a piece of art. We will reuse contemporaneity, our lives, our reality to which I will give a higher meaning, that transcends it.
After choosing together the image, I will print the picture on canvas or on paper.
Thus, I will start painting the picture, manually, one by one, in the silence of my room.
Realising in this way an icon, in which the person is transformed in an angel.
The photo is no longer an image, but a painting, a piece of art.
It becomes a space of contemplation.
Through the painting the figures are isolated in a setting, in a pictorial setting out of time.
An ideal setting.
The figures are covered with white paint to remind us of the new white gown we are to bring into the world, the new life we are to seek.
The figures in the paintings are transformed into an angelical ideal.
Art reminds us of the eternity we are all called to.
This project can be realized only through the support of supporters of the initiative and the collaboration of the customer. The customers are the benefactors of art and can have realized a painting based on them or on the person they love, if they wish to give them a present.
Angels and the Bible
Jesus Christ is the centre of the angelical world: “when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne” (Mt 25,31), they are his because created through him and in view of him “for in him were created all things in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created through him and for him” (Col.1,16). They are his more so because he made them messengers of his design of salvation: “are they not all ministering spirits sent to serve, for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?” (Eb 1,14).
Right from creation all through the story of salvation angels announce from far or from near this salvation and they work towards the realization of God’s design of salvation: they close Heaven, they protect Lot, they save Agar and her son, they hold back Abraham’s arm; the Law is communicated through their ministry, they guide God’s people, they foretell births and vocations, they assist the prophets, just to mention some examples. Also, it is Angel Gabriel that announces the birth of John and that of Jesus.
From Incarnation right up to the Ascension, the life of the Word made Man is surrounded by the adoration and the service of angels. When God “and again, when he leads the first born into the world, he says: let all the angels of God worship him” (Eb 1,6). Their hymn of praise when Christ is born hasn’t stopped resounding through the voice of the Church: “Glory to God…” (Lk 2,14). They protect the childhood of Jesus, they serve him in the desert, they comfort him during the agony in Gethsemane, when they could have saved him from the hands of his enemies, as they had once done with Israel. It is again the Angels that proclaim the Good News of Jesus’s Incarnation and Resurrection. At Christ’s return, which they promise, they will be there, serving him during his judgement.
